YOUR MOTIVATIONAL 'Quick Tip of The Week'; "Target Practice"

Many times we find that we're noticeably out of sorts. Dragging our feet and feeling as though our "get up and go - simply got up and left". When it comes to taking the necessary steps toward accomplishing the goals we've set for ourselves...sometimes, we're just not feeling it. Let's face it, occasionally even Bill Gates has a down day every once and a while. But when our energy, enthusiasm and zeal  have seemingly LEFT THE BUILDING for an extended period of time, trust me...SOMETHINGS UP!

When choosing your goals, it's important to ask yourself these three questions:
1) Am I aiming for this because I've always had a deep, insatiable longing to achieve it; or is it possible I'm chasing what I believe is expected of me?
2) When I finally reach my destination, will I feel fulfilled Physically, Emotionally an Spiritually - or will the end result possibly leave me longing for something more?
3) Am I having any fun? If the pursuit of what you THOUGHT you wanted is leaving you listless, dull and depressed, your aim may be off!

IF you answered yes questions 1 - 2 or BOTH -  take a break, period! Often, burn out is what you're experiencing and a short rest is all you need to renew your spirit and reboot your energy systems.Sometimes it's not that your heading in the wrong direction, but that the way you're going about may need to be changed.
Check out my Archives and Read "Are you moving forward, or just Spinning your wheels", this should help to provide some practical applications if you find yourself in this category.Stay strong and fight to the finish. The harder the goal is to acquire, the sweeter the victory.

HOWEVER, IF you answered yes to number 3 (or worse, ALL THREE)...I fear you may need a bit more target practice! While everyone will experience some degree of  burnout every now and then, causing us to wonder if we're off track or just  frayed around the edges ....the idea that you may be depressed, lifeless and uninspired all together - finding no joy in the process of your pursuit, it's time to re-evaluate and there's NOTHING BUT GOOD NEWS THERE! IT takes a lot of guts to say you just don't have it right, then to tragically stay the "Wrong Course" and get what you were aiming for!!!
The only thing worse than doing something you hate for one day - it's doing it for two days!
This is your life and there's always time for more Target Practice!

Until next time...shoot for the center and follow your dreams.
