MONDAY'S MOTIVATIONAL MINUTE..."Today's Motivational Minute Is For Our Young People"

“Life… It Is What You Make It”

(Today is meant specifically for our young people. I presented this at an address I gave at a Private Middle School , as a hand out to take with them after I spoke. Print this out for your Son or Daughter. I thought it appropriate, considering School, with all it's challenges and trials.... has just begun.)

In her famous diary, a very young Anne Frank wrote these words:

"Parents can only give good advice or put [their children] on the right path, but the final forming of a person's character lies in their own hands".

Anne Frank is talking about self-responsibility which, in a nutshell, means taking responsibility for your thoughts, words, and deeds.

Our parents, teachers, counselors, and faith leaders can offer us valuable advice. They can recommend which path to take. They can share the wisdom they have gained through experience. But in the end, it is up to us to make the right choices.

It takes a lot of courage to resist peer pressure, whether you are an adult or a young person. (That's right. Adults have to deal with peer pressure, too.)

To be a courageous human being can simply mean following your heart instead of following the group. Sometimes being courageous is nothing more than being your own person and thinking for yourself.

The next time you're faced with negative peer pressure, have the courage to follow your heart. You may lose a friend, but remember, losing your courage can be a much greater loss. Besides, if standing up for what you know is right means losing a friend, maybe your friend wasn't a friend after all.

Doing the right thing, making the best choices and doing what’s right simply because it’s the right thing to do is often a challenging way to live… but it is the only way to TRULY live and live ABUNDANTLY! Remember, if you want to live an extraordinary life, be an EXTRAORDINARY PERSON!

Until next time...
I hope all of you find this helpful, as another school year begins. It's a challenging undertaking all the way around. Stand your ground when it comes to what you believe in... with a soft word and a kind heart
but never compromise who you are or what you believe.... and YOU WILL BE A CUT ABOVE THE REST!
The rewards will follow you throughout your entire life.

Power On,
Candace
